Red Deer Public Schools Media Protocol

Red Deer Public Schools is proud of its strong and close relations with the local media covering education news and issues. We look forward to continuing this tradition. 

We ask that ALL inquiries of our Board of Trustees, Senior administration and/or Schools be directed through:

We will continue to assist media with their requests by identifying spokesperson, arranging interviews and providing information. In doing so, we must be mindful of the busy schedules of our staff and that our first priority is always teaching and learning. We must also comply with Freedom of Information and Protection of Personal Privacy legislation as well as the individual wishes of principals, staff, students and parents relative to media coverage. At the same time, we are committed to assisting media in their coverage.

When schools or the Division generate media advisories, we will include contact information. In these situations only, media can contact the named individuals directly.
